Our People
Michelle BristowMichelle’s passion for paediatric and infant nutrition gave fuel to her dream and vision of starting a nutritional company that specialises in superior infant feeds in a ready to use format for the malnourished, sick, immune compromised kids of South Africa and Africa. She wanted to come up with an African solution for and African problem.
Her passion to see this become a reality has helped her overcome a number of challenges such as competing with international brands such as ASPEN and Nestle. Michelle has had a number of different roles throughout her career both nationally and internationally, from clinical dietitian, head of department at state of the art hospitals, regional key accounts manager in a multinational company and lastly heading up of the nutrition division at FutureLife, which is the fastest growing health food brand in South Africa. Michelle currently oversees the whole Kairos business including importing of raw materials, manufacturing, packing, distribution and sales. |
Simon LightSimon comes from a family engaged in providing healthy food and living options (designing healthy eating plans, natural therapies and alternative exercise routines).
Having initiated several business ventures in different fields ranging from contract catering, cost consulting, sound studios and business process re-engineering, plus running large programmes of work across global organisations, the time came to blend these worlds and somehow make a difference, Simon is now passionate about using his cross functional business skills to address malnutrition on a global scale and impact all communities suffering from hunger. In 2013 Simon became a co-founder of Ready to Feed. |
Hugh Bates
Hugh Bates established Ready to Feed with Simon Light in 2013.
Hugh has extensive international experience in the corporate world within Financial Services, IT, Government, Media and Manufacturing Sectors. Hugh’s corporate expertise ranges from strategic and general management of IT Departments across private and government organisations, negotiating and tender management of some of the largest IT contracts awarded in both Europe and Australia, to establishing and leading large growth programs within the IT environment. He left the corporate life in 2015 to pursue his entrepreneurial spirit. He joined the Board of Kairos Nutrition in 2017 and relishes the quest of reducing child malnutrition. Hugh now lives with his family in Sydney and continues to pursue a variety of business interests. |
Sumaya Sooliman
Sumaya Sooliman is a registered dietitian with 8 years experience, both in the public and private sector. She has worked in many aspects of dietetics; from clinical dietitian in the state hospitals, lecturing and supervising dietetics and human nutrition students at the University of KwaZulu Natal in Pietermaritzburg, private practice for outpatients as well as seeing patients in a rehabilitation hospital.
She currently runs a part time out patient practice with the focus being largely on diabetes. She has a special interest in diabetes and wellness and is also certified as an Authority Life Coach for adults and children. Sumaya has a passion for helping people and making a positive and visible difference in the lives of others. She loves to educate the public on the importance of good nutrition and clear misconceptions people have with regards to diet and healthy eating. Through her experience, she has realised the amazing effects that good nutrition has on the body and how it improves health. Based on this, she decided to join Kairos nutrition and started her position as sales dietitian on 15th October 2018.
